LocationGabrovo is situated in northern Bulgaria, on two banks of the River Yantra, in the north Sredna Stara Planina mountain, 392 m above sea level some 40 km south from Veliko Turnovo, 220 km north-east from the city of Sofia and 50 km north from Kazanluk.
